Gio Gonzalez went the distance and tossed his first career shutout as the Nationals blanked the Cardinals, 10-0. Gonzalez struck out eight and allowed just five hits and three walks to improve to 17-and-7. Ryan Zimmerman popped a two-run homer while Jayson Werth went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs. Bryce Harper finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI for Washington, which won its third straight following a five-game slide. Adam Wainwright gave up six runs in just two-and-two-thirds innings to fall to 13-and-11 on the season. St. Louis has lost four straight.
