Busy September Kicks Off This Weekend In Lincoln

The month of September figures to be hopping in Lincoln.

The fall season brings several annual events which figures to draw people from all over central Illinois. This coming weekend will be the Atlanta and Mt. Pulaski Fall Festivals. Executive Director of the Abe Lincoln Tourism Bureau, Geoff Ladd says those two events kick off with parades early Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, the Tourism Bureau will bring back once again this year their "Fall Farm Day" which will feature several Agri-Tourism hot spots in Logan County. Gail's Pumpkin Patch off Route 10 will be one of the showcased sites. They recently received an award from Comptroller Judy Barr Topinka's office.

Other events include showcasing the County's organic farm, Irwin Dairy Farm and the JH Haas Grain Elevator in Atlanta. Ladd explains, in a severe drought year like this, it will be a good opportunity to learn about the importance of organic food.
