Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred at approximately 11:41 a.m. on Monday, September 17th, revealed that a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Nelson, 21, Bloomington, and Sandra McCree, 50, Lincoln, were traveling west on State Highway 10 near intersection of West Street when Nelson’s vehicle struck McCree’s vehicle. Nelson said there was a grain truck pulling off into a field and she almost come to a complete stop when Nelson struck her from behind. Nelson said she saw brake lights and then she struck McCree with the front end of her vehicle. Nelson’s vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported and McCree’s vehicle was driven from scene. Nelson was issued citations for Failure To Reduce Speed/Accident and Electronic Communication Devices-Texting While Driving. Nelson posted her IL Driver’s License as bond and was released.
Scott Jones, 49, Farmer City, was issued a citation for Driving Under Influence. Jones was issued a Notice To Appear and was released.
ALL SUSPECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
