Cards, Sox Win; Hold Leads Heading Into Final Week

(Houston, TX)  --  Pete Kozma hit a two-run homer and Yadier Molina added a solo shot as the Cardinals drowned out the Astros, 6-1.  Matt Holliday drove in two with a single and Daniel Descalso ripped an RBI triple as St. Louis maintains a three-and-a-half game lead on Los Angeles and Milwaukee for the final NL Wild Card spot.  Lance Lynn struck out nine over seven innings of one-run ball to pick up the win and improve to 17-and-7.  Scott Moore singled in a run in the second for Houston's only score.  Fernando Abad gave up a run before exiting in the second inning with a strained right oblique and was charged with the loss.  The Astros have dropped two straight and five-of-seven.

>>White Sox Edge Tribe, Stay One Up On Tigers

(Chicago, IL)  --  Adam Dunn hit his 40th and 41st home runs of the season as the White Sox edged the Indians, 6-5.  Dunn connected on a solo homer in the sixth before blasting a three-run shot in the eighth to give Chicago the lead for good.  Chris Sale received a no-decision after allowing three runs in seven innings.  Brett Myers picked up the victory while Donnie Veal earned his first save.  The Sox remain a game ahead of Detroit in the AL Central after the Tigers defeated the Royals.  Vinnie Pestano suffered the loss in relief for Cleveland.  Russ Canzler hit a two-run homer while Asdrubal Cabrera and Shin-Soo Choo each ripped an RBI double in the loss.  The Tribe has lost three of its last four.
