La Russa Wouldn't Give Pujols Ten-Year Deal

Retired manager Tony La Russa says signing slugger Albert Pujols [[ POO-holes ]] to a ten-year contract would not have been a smart move for the Cardinals.  The former St. Louis skipper told "ESPN First Take" that he doesn't endorse contracts beyond six years, calling anything longer "scary and dangerous."  Pujols left the Cardinals last winter to sign a ten-year, 254-million-dollar deal with the Angels.  La Russa said Pujols is a great franchise player, so it makes sense for them, but he wouldn't want to risk more than five or six years on any player.
