DeWitt County Young Leaders Harvest For All Today

The DeWitt County Farm Bureau Young Leaders are set to conduct their "Harvest For All" grain collection today (MON).

Farmers harvesting in DeWitt County today should expect to be visited by the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.  Chair John Klemm explains they'll be traveling through the county collecting donations of grain, which will be used to fund a donation to local food pantries.

Last year's collection brought in over 4-thousand dollars for local food banks.  According to Klemm, their goal today is to visit as many DeWitt County farmers as possible.

The Young Leaders debated whether or not to conduct the grain collection this year due to the devastating drought impacting farmer's yields.  However, Klemm feels going ahead with the drive is a way of showing how the local farming community is willing to step up...even in the face of adversity.
