SEPTEMBER WAS COOLER AND WETTER THAN NORMAL IN ILLINOIS.

THE STATEWIDE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE LAST MONTH WAS 64 POINT SIX DEGREES. THAT’S ABOUT ONE AND A HALF DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. AND AFTER MONTHS OF DROUGHT CONDITIONS…STATE CLIMATOLOGIST JIM ANGEL SAYS MANY AREAS SAW PLENTY OF RAIN IN SEPTEMBER.

ANGEL SAYS THE RAIN WAS SPOTTY THOUGH…AND MUCH OF ILLINOIS STILL SUFFERS FROM DROUGHT CONDITIONS.

DESPITE THE PRECIPITATION…DROUGHT CONDITIONS PERSIST IN MUCH OF THE STATE. ANGEL SAYS THE NORTHERN THIRD OF ILLINOIS IS THE DRIEST PART OF THE STATE.
