AFTER A COOL…WET SEPTEMBER…IT MAY BE MORE OF THE SAME FOR THE REST OF THIS MONTH.

FORECASTERS INITIALLY PREDICTED THIS FALL WOULD BRING ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES…AND LOW RAINFALL. BUT STATE CLIMATOLOGIST JIM ANGEL SAYS THAT’S CHANGED.

EVEN WITH THE RECENT RAINS…WE’RE STILL SHORT ON PRECIPITATION FOR THE YEAR. ILLINOIS HAS RECEIVED A LITTLE OVER 22 INCHES OF RAIN FROM JANUARY THROUGH SEPTEMBER. THAT’S MORE THAN EIGHT INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
