The 2012 Apple and Pork Festival was great success this year for many of our local vendors.
One of those vendors was the Waynesville Women's Club. The organization makes their famous gingerbread cookies. Carol Spaulding, who is a member of the club, said that the money from the cookies goes toward their local community.

Spaulding says there is quite a bit of preparation that goes into making these cookies every year. She explains they will have several baking sessions in preparation and this it resulted in an inventory of 7-thousand cookies, 6-thousand of which all sold Saturday.

Spaulding says that the Apple and Pork Festival is essential to the Waynesville Women's Club.
