Illinois Oil Buys Clinton's Evergreen FS

The Clinton Evergreen FS station has been bought out by a Midwest tank manufacturing operation.

Illinois Oil Marketing Equipment, Inc., or IOME, has announced the purchase of the tank production facility of Evergreen FS, Inc in Clinton. Spokesman for IOME, Mark McLaren explains they are in a cyclical business and there are years when there are barely enough sales to support operations, and years when there is not enough capacity to support the sales.  He adds the volume created by this combination will bring added value and consistency to the market.

The purchase of Evergreen FS gives Illinois Oil a more specific clientèle focused on farmers. McLaren says all during the negotiations, Evergreen FS was a small player, but a significant player. He feels both sides will benefit from each others specialties.

Illinois Oil is going to need personnel for the Clinton site. McLaren says currently employees at the Evergreen FS site are being interviewed for positions in the new structure. He says some employees can opt to retire or some can move to other locations within the FS company.

Illinois Oil began manufactering oil in 2007 in Clinton, and according to McLaren, it was because they were not getting what they needed from those who were manufacturing tanks for them.

IOME also bought the tank production equipment of Fabstar Tanks, Inc., Cayuga, IN. All three organizations have manufactured tanks in the 110-10,000 gallon range.  All production will be combined at the current and newly acquired property in Clinton. Tanks manufactured by IOME are distributed across the Midwest.

Illinois Oil Marketing Equipment, Inc. was founded in 1954, and is headquartered in Pekin, IL.
