Rangers To Let Hamilton Explore Free Agency

The Texas Rangers will let slugger Josh Hamilton test the free-agent market before deciding whether to make a contract offer.  General Manager Jon Daniels says they will let the process play out and let Hamilton explore his options once he hits the open market following the World Series.  Daniels added that the team is not closing the door on Hamilton's return, but history shows players don't typically return to their original club after becoming a free agent.  The 31-year-old hit .285 with 43 home runs and 128 RBI this year, but has a well-documented history with drugs and alcohol.
