WITH ABOUT FIVE DAYS SUITABLE FOR FIELDWORK THIS PAST WEEK…STATE CROP STATISTICIAN DAVID WARD SAYS HARVEST IS MOVING RIGHT ALONG.

69 PERCENT OF SOYBEANS HAVE BEEN HARVESTED. THAT’S AHEAD OF PROGRESS AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR SAYS STATE CROP STATISTICIAN DAVID WARD.

AS FOR OTHER CROPS…46 PERCENT OF WINTER WHEAT HAS BEEN PLANTED AND 11 PERCENT EMERGED. 57 PERCENT OF SORGHUM HAS BEEN HARVESTED…AND THE THIRD CUTTING OF ALFALFA IS NOW 97 PERCENT COMPLETE. AVERAGE STATEWIDE TOPSOIL MOISTURE CONTINUES TO IMPROVE…AND NOW STANDS AT: FOUR PERCENT SURPLUS…61 PERCENT ADEQUATE…23 PERCENT SHORT AND 12 PERCENT VERY SHORT.
