Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is promising Amtrak's 111-mile-per-hour milestone in Illinois won't be the last.
LaHood says travel between Chicago and St. Louis is going to get even shorter.
Governor Quinn says the high-speed rail is going to revolutionize travel.
LaHood says the new rail service will help reduce travel time between Chicago and St. Louis to under four hours. LaHood, along with Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, showed off how fast Amtrak can go last Friday. It took only six minutes for the train to go down 15 miles of track between Dwight and Pontiac.
