Petitions to run to be on the Board are now available. Superintendent of Warrensburg-Latham Schools Kristen Kendrick says there are many challenges facing their schools. Being on the Board of Education will take some time to get used to. Kendrick says one of the biggest learning curves may be understanding how the schools' budgets work. She says the budgets all districts deal with have specific areas they can be used for. She says one fund may look very healthy, but that doesn't mean it can help out a struggling fund elsewhere in the budget.

Kendrick says she wants people on the Board who will have the best interest of the students of the district in mind. She explains while everyone has their own interests, she does not want someone coming on with an agenda.
