UPDATED: Local Election Night Results

The DeWitt County Board will have some new faces come December.

In District A, Incumbents Sherry Brown (Rep.) and Camille Redman (Dem.) will be joined by Republican, Dan Ballenger. Redman and Brown both had 27.2% of the vote with Redman leading Brown by only one vote , 948-947. Ballenger had 22.9 % with 796 votes. Republican Larry Schumm recieved the least amount of votes with 788.

District B will have some new faces representing them. Republicans, Mark Garnder and Tom Pruser will join incumbent, Terry Ferguson on the board. Ferguson, also a Republican, recieved 827 votes, just edging out Independent George Wissmiller, who had 826 votes. Gardner and Pruser received 1136 and 1118 votes respectively. That amounts to 25.1 % for Gardner and 24.7% for Pruser. Also, incumbent Dana Evans did not retain his seat with only 617 votes.

District C will have a drastically new look on the County Board. Challengers, Terry Hoffman, Ron Savage Jr., and David Newberg, all Republicans, will take seats on the board as Democrat Incumbents Scott Nimmo and Rusty Davenport failed to retain their seats. Challenging Democrat, Mike Bray also failed to win a seat.

District D will have a new face, as Democratic challenger Rita Sue May defeated incumbent, Melonie Tilley. Joining May will be incumbents Kelly Riggs and Pete Dougherty.

In other area races, running unopposed, State's Attorny Candidate Karle Koritz will be the successor to his father's office, Pam Barnes will become the new Circuit Clerk, and Randy Rice will be the county's next Coroner, replacing Alex Calvert.

According to County Clerk, Dana Smith, there are still fourteen days still to receive absentee ballots which means that these results are not final.

Other state election results from Tuesday include the 13th Congressional district race, which as of early this morning had Rodney Davis ahead by almost 300 votes with 99% of precincts reporting.

In the 51st State Senate Race, Republican Chapin Rose ran uncontested.

In the 101st State House District, Republican Incumbent Bill Mitchell Ran unopposed and remains seated in the Illinois House.
