Clinton Community Educational Foundation Seeking Board Members

One local group aimed at benefiting the school district of the community is seeking volunteers for their Board of Directors.

The Clinton Community Educational Foundation serves as a way to supplement un-budgeted items for the Clinton School district through their classroom grants and other donations. Claudine Wargel is a member of the Foundation and she says being a board member is not a large time commitment. They meet once a month for an hour to an hour and a half.

Wargel feels the role the CCEF plays in the Clinton School District is very important. She says board meetings may consist of reviewing applications for their classroom grants. It may also consist of hearing needs from those inside the schools as well.

Becoming a member of the Board is not the only way to get involved with the Education Foundation. According to Wargel, they will put together committees for various needs the Foundation may have. Whether it be planning fundraising events, review applications for their scholarship program, or reviewing applications for their classroom grants, Wargel says it's a great way to keep involved in what is happening at the school district.

Wargel encourages anyone interested in giving a few hours a month to the Foundation to give her a call at 217-944-2549. She would be happy to discuss ways to become involved with the Board or with their committees.
