Barn Quilts of DeWitt County Hosting Final 2012 Tour; Adding 10 New Quilts

If you are seeking entertainment for this weekend, the Barn Quilts of DeWitt County is taking their final tour of the 2012 year.

Two tours were schedule for this year, the first was August 12, and Tourism Director with the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, Carolyn Sugg explains the first tour included more activities. The Barn Quilts of DeWitt County are hosting their second tour of the season tomorrow afternoon. Sugg notes this tour will include seeing each barn quilt, however, afterwards, attendees are encouraged to stick around the Clinton area for business open houses.

Last year was the first year for the Barn Quilts of DeWitt County, and in the inaugural year, they had ten barn quilts around DeWitt County. This year, Sugg explains they have added ten quilts, and those are on local businesses and other barns in rural portions of the area.

This second tour of the year is going to feature all of the new quilts, and then a few of the original ten. Sugg explains their goal is to create a natural driving trail so when people come to see the quilts on non-tour dates, they can drive around and see them without having to go out of their way for one, or do any back-tracking.

The tour is this Saturday from 9 am to 11:30 am. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of. There will also be door prizes given away throughout the day as well. Tickets can be purchased at the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, Country Junction, The Loft, Quilters Delight, Flower Corner, Country Church Craft Mall.
