Presentation Focuses On Attire Of Mary Todd Lincoln

A unique event hosted by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will let Lincoln history buffs and fashion lovers combine their interests.

The museum has planned two presentations in Illinois this month that will showcase styles of clothes worn by the president's wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.

It's called the "Culture of Clothing."

One presentation will be held Monday in Chicago and the other one is in Springfield on Nov. 19.

Event officials say that models wearing new versions of her dresses and jewelry will mingle with visitors and answer questions about the clothing.

Actresses portraying Lincoln's seamstress will also interact with guests to discuss their work and women's lives in that era.
