Quinn wants lawmakers to tackle pension before January 9th, when the new general assembly will be sworn in. He promised to start a grassroots campaign for pension reform back in August when lawmakers failed to get the job done in special but, he hasn't made good on that effort. It may not be necessary if they're planning to pass a reform package during veto or lame duck sessions.
