Civil War history buffs will enjoy a new exhibit at the Warner Library.

width=The Lincoln Heritage Committee of DeWitt County was able to help secure the first of a small, traveling exhibit on weapons and medicine during the Civil War. Librarian at the Warner Library, Bobbi Perryman explains the exhibit comes from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, and is actually smaller exhibit from one they had there.

Along with the exhibit they received, Perryman explains they have enhanced the display to recognize several local soldiers. She notes their enhancements are rooted from a display they had a few years ago about soldiers from DeWitt County in the Civil War.

Along with the travel displays the library is able to secure, there are some permanent artifacts and photographs that can be viewed any time at the library. Perryman says the library is home to a journal of a Civil War veteran that was donated by the soldier's family. They also have some shells for World War II.
