Clinton Public Works Department To Pick Up Brush Monday

The third Monday of each month, which would be this Monday, November 19, the City of Clinton's Public Works Department makes the rounds through the city picking up brush.

With the blustery and gusty conditions of fall here, some of those lose branches and twigs are probably hitting the ground. Public Works Director for the City of Clinton, Steve Lobb explains they break the city into five zones, like they do for leaf pick up, and they make their way through the city picking up brush piles residents leave out.

There are some things City crews cannot take. Lobb explains they can take brush off trees, twigs, things like that. He says garden items like flowers and plants are very hit and miss. He says they might be able to but it could require equipment they may not have. He says best way to know is if it comes off a tree or bush, it is considered brush.

Lobb recommends residents keep their trimming of trees and bushes to the fall and spring months. He says during the summer is not the best time to be trimming those. He also notes, the summer is their busiest time to be doing other projects, mainly street projects. To be spending two or three days the third week of the month takes away from their other projects they have.

Again, the Public Works Department makes their way out to the city streets of Clinton the third Monday of each month, all 12 months. Their next trip will be this Monday, November 19. Lobb says those items you want picked up should be out at the front of your home by 7am Monday morning.
