Eureka College plans to name retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor an honorary Ronald Reagan fellow.

The small, private school says it will honor O'Connor and add her to its Ronald W. Reagan Leadership Program on April 9.

O'Connor was the first woman to serve on the Supreme Court after being nominated by Reagan in 1981. Reagan is Eureka's most famous alum.

Eureka President J. David Arnold said O'Connor served with honor.

Past Reagan Leadership Program inductees include former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
