Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder Announces Re-Election Bid

Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder has announced he will be running for re-election in 2013.

 width=The incumbent Republican is in the midst of his first term as the Mayor of Lincoln. Mayor Snyder says he has been honored to serve the people of Lincoln that past almost four years, and would enjoy serving another term. He feels there are a lot of unfinished items he would like to see through.

The Mayor came into office hoping to accomplish goals in three major categories, those being economic development, community pride, and looking to the future. Mayor Snyder feels he has done things to accomplish all those, he hopes to continue some of the unfinished work, including the revitalizing the downtown area of Lincoln.

If re-elected for another four year term, Mayor Snyder has two targets he would like to pursue. The first being getting something done with the old facilities of the former Lincoln Developmental Center, which has been vacant for over ten years now. Mayor Snyder also would like to see some improvements made to 5th Street, which is an old farm road that has seen housing and business development build up around it.

Lincoln's Republican primary will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013. The City’s general election will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013. In addition to Mayor, the City will be electing a City Clerk, a City Treasurer, and eight aldermen, two each from the recently redistricted four City wards.
