The son of former Illinois Gov. George Ryan has been arrested for driving under the influence.
George Ryan, Jr., of St. Anne, was arrested early Thursday morning.
According to a police report, the 48-year-old was sleeping in the driver's seat of his pick-up truck.
The truck was parked outside a White Castle restaurant in Bradley, which is located south of Chicago. The vehicle was running.
Ryan failed to complete several sobriety tests and refused chemical testing.
He was taken to the local jail, where he posted bail and was released later Thursday.
Ryan could not be reached for comment Friday. He did not immediately return a telephone message left at his office.
