Quinn Sets Election Dates To Replace Jackson Jr.

The primary election to replace former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. will be held on February 26th.  It will coincide with other local elections in an effort to cut back on some of the costs.  That gives potential candidates about three months to make their case with the 420-thousand voters in the district.  The date of the general election hasn't been set in stone yet.  It's supposed to be held by March 19th, but Governor Quinn is trying to have it pushed back to April 9th.  That would require a change in Illinois law, which requires the election take place within 115 days,  but Quinn says pushing it back could further ease the cost burden.
