Davidsmeyer says he would not support a proposal to extend the tax hike which took effect nearly two years ago. He replaces Jim Watson, who recently retired to take a job with the Illinois Petroleum Council. Davidsmeyer will serve the state's 97th district through January 9th, when he'll be sworn in again as the representative for the state's 100th district.
