35-Game Bowl Season Begins Saturday

The college football bowl season gets underway with the first two of 35 games this holiday season.  Arizona goes up against Nevada in the New Mexico Bowl at 1 p.m. Eastern, while Toledo takes on Utah State at 4:30 Eastern in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.  The bowl schedule picks up in earnest with 16 games between Christmas and New Year's.  New Year's Day features six bowls in all, highlighted by Georgia and Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl and Wisconsin against Stanford in the Rose Bowl.  The Suger Bowl will pit Louisville against Florida on January 2nd, Oregon against Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl on January 3rd and Texas A&M against Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl on January 4th.  The BCS National Championship features number-one Notre Dame against Alabama on January 7th.
