A library in central Illinois is getting a new digital sign with a nearly $19,000 price tag.
The Pekin Public Library was partly paid for by Friends of the Pekin Public Library, which donated $8,500. The rest of the money came from the library's technology savings fund.
The sign stands 29 inches tall and is more than 6 feet long.
The library's director is Jeff Brookes. He says the digital sign will have the name of the library and an electronic message board that will advertise events and sales at the library.
The library's old sign has been around since the 1970s. It'll be moved nearby.
