Coroner Says Two People Found Dead Were Homicide Victims

The Sangamon County Coroner says that two people found dead inside a Springfield home were apparently the victims of a double homicide.

Coroner Cinda Edwards says a preliminary investigation into the deaths of the two people whose bodies were found Monday inside an apartment apparently ruled out a murder-suicide, but authorities were continuing their investigation. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Authorities have not said how 24-year-old Larry Grice and 24-year-old Andrea Pocklington died. But initial scanner reports indicated the two had been shot to death and Deputy Cliff Buscher of the Springfield Police Department said Tuesday that state police blood-spatter experts have been asked to investigate.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
