CHS Class of 73 Celebrating 40th Class Reunion, Finishing Peace Park

The Clinton High School Class of 1973 will has a busy year ahead of them.

The Class of 73 will be celebrating their 40th class reunion this year, but they also could see the fruits of several years of labor become reality. Cris Rogers with the Class of 73 explains they still keep in contact with a large percentage of their high school classmates. He says while they are scattered all over the country, many manage every year to make it back for their class reunions.

With the Clinton School District getting ready to build a new elementary school, the school buildings the Class of 73 grew up in will be coming down. Rogers says they are considering taking some final tours of those buildings, he would also like to show his peers from outside the area the nearly complete Roque Court they've been working on as well.

While the Roque Court project has taken much longer than the Class of 73 thought it would, it is on schedule to be dedicated this spring, if not the summer and Rogers says it is shaping to coincide nicely with their 40th Class Reunion.

The Class of 73 still has some minor finishing touches to make to the Roque Court Peace Project. Rogers says they've been overwhelmed by the community support to get the park looking in the shape it is. At the dedication, the Class of 73 will turn the park back over to the City of Clinton, and it will become, once again, a City Park.
