Police Chief Randy McKinley Leaving Bloomington

After 28 years of service, Police Chief Randy McKinley is saying goodbye to Bloomington.

Reports say City Manager David Hales and Mayor Steve Stockton presented McKinley with a special award commemorating his service on Monday. Hales says McKinley's vision and sense of community won't be easy to replace.

McKinley has served as Bloomington's police chief for the last four years.

His final day is Friday. He's leaving to become the police chief in St. Charles, Mo.

McKinley says it's time to hand off to somebody else in Bloomington and he's hoping he'll be received as well in Missouri as he has been in central Illinois.
