(undated) -- The provisional rosters for the 2013 World Baseball Classic were announced Thursday and five St. Louis Cardinals players are on teams. Cardinals big-leaguers Carlos Beltran and Yadier Molina are on Puerto Rico's team. Fernando Salas will pitch for Mexico. Mitchell Bogs is in the Team USA bullpen and minor-leaguer Richard Castillo is on Spain's roster.

(Chicago, IL) -- Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo will play for Italy in the 2013 World Baseball Classic this March. Three other Cubs minor-leaguers are on other national teams. Italy will play the USA, Mexico and Canada in Arizona in pool play.

(Chicago, IL) -- The White Sox have three players on provisional rosters for the World Baseball Classic. Outfielder Alex Rios will make his third WBC appearance for Puerto Rico. Pitcher Hector Santiago joins him but may choose not to play. Pitcher Jesse Crain is on the roster for Canada.

(Durham, NC) -- Reigning National League Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey and former MVPs Ryan Braun, Jimmy Rollins and Joe Mauer [[ MOW-er ]] headline the United States' provisional roster for this spring's World Baseball Classic. Dickey is joined in the U.S. rotation by the Giants' Ryan Vogelsong, Braves' Kris Medlen and Rangers' Derek Holland. Other position players include Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira [[ tuh-SHARE-uh ]], Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips and Mets third baseman David Wright. Joe Torre [[ TORE-ee ]] will manage the U.S. squad, which will begin training in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 1st. The Americans begin round-robin play in Pool D against Mexico at Chase Field on March 8th. Canada and Italy are also in the United States' bracket. Team USA has finished sixth and fourth in the two prior World Baseball Classics.
