Area seniors continue to get bombarded by scams from almost every direction.

Scam artists continue to change the way they attack people from every walk of life, but locally, law enforcement officials are seeing seniors being targeted the most. Clinton Police Chief Mike Reidy says there are many ways seniors are taken advantage of. He explains recently one senior was scammed and the person who scammed this individual got greedy and physically came to Clinton to her front door to receive more cash.

Chief Reidy explains many of these transactions take place through MoneyGram or Western Union money transfer agencies, and local business owners keep an eye on those seniors that use those services in their businesses. He says that has stopped many scams from taking place.
