>>Ex-Bear Chris Harris Returns as Assistant. Coach

(Chicago, IL) -- Chris Harris didn't leave the Bears for long. Just days after retiring with Chicago, the former safety is reportedly returning as the team's defensive quality control coach. Harris played 101 NFL games, including 88 starts with multiple teams. He finished his career with 16 picks, 14 forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Bears have named former Purdue defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar as their new linebackers coach. He'll reunite with new Bears Head Coach Marc Trestman. Tibesar worked under Trestman with the Montreal Alouttes from 2009 to 2010. He also spent time as special teams coach and defensive coordinator at Kansas State.

>>Lovie Smith To Take 2013 Off From Coaching

(Undated) -- Former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith is taking some time off from the NFL. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Smith plans to sit out the 2013 season and return as a head coach in 2014. The 54-year-old was fired last month after nine seasons as Bears head coach. Chicago went 10-and-6 this season, but missed the playoffs for the fifth time in six years. Smith was 84-and-66 with the Bears, including three playoff appearances and a trip to Super Bowl 41.

(New Orleans, LA) -- As Super Bowl week begins in New Orleans, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's approval rating is taking a hit. In a recent "USA Today" poll of 300 players, 61-percent said they disapprove of the job Goodell is doing. Most of the criticism centered around his handling of the Saints' bounty scandal and the overall increase in fines.
