Members of the city council in east-central Illinois' Gibson City have started using iPads.
The council approved up to $6,000 to buy the iPads in an effort to be more environmentally friendly and obtain more convenient access to information. Mayor Dan Dickey explains there may be glitches, but council members will "work through them."
Council members used the iPads this week to review zoning ordinances.
City officials also plan to spend $500 for a new document scanner. The goal is a paperless city council.
