On a national level, Rose says it should be no shock that President Obama has taken an anti-gun stance with the gun debate continuing to be front and center in Washington. Rose explains in when Obama was an Illinois Senator, he supported a bill that would not allow anyone to have a gun in their own homes. Rose says "that is ridiculous".

Rose says lawmakers from Chicago do not understand, some counties in downstate Illinois may only have one Deputy Sheriff on duty on a given Saturday evening. He says the issue comes down to personal protection, and he feels every citizen has the right to defend themselves.
