DeWitt County Relay For Life To Have Information Available At Tonight's Clinton Basketball Game

Tuesday night's basketball game at Clinton High School will feature a very special communtiy kickoff.

 width=In conjunction with Clinton High School's boys basketball game, the DeWitt County Relay For Life will have information available throughout the high school. Marcia Wise, co-chair of the Relay For Life, says the game will be a great opportunity for people to become aware of the different ways to get involved.

The Relay for Life helps to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Wise says the event has grown significantly over the last 5 years that she has participated. She adds even obstacles such as bad weather hasn't stopped the momentum of Relay For Life.

Relay For Life coordinators feel there is always room for more community involvement. Wise says everyone has been touched by cancer in some form or another, whether through a family members of friends. The theme for the event this year is "Mardi Gras". Tuesday's basketball game will feature several Mardi Gras themes in order to bring awareness to the Relay.

This year's Relay For Life will take place June 7-8.

Wise appreciates the high school staff and students for the opportunity to shed light to their efforts and encourages anyone wishing to get involved to stop by any of the informational set ups they will have.

Clinton plays host to Decatur St. Teresa tomorrow night. The JV game gets underway at 6pm with the varsity game scheduled for 7:30.
