>>Lions Release WR Titus Young

(Allen Park, MI) -- Titus Young's tenure with the Detroit Lions is over. The troublesome wide receiver has been released after a two-year stint with the team. Young did not play in the Lions' final six regular season games after causing problems with the team's coaching staff. A day after getting into an altercation with wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson in a November 11th game against Green Bay, Young was sent home from practice by head coach Jim Schwartz. The 23-year-old Boise State product was then held out of Detroit's next two games before going on injured reserve. He had 33 catches for 383 yards and four touchdowns this season. In 2011 as a rookie, Young hauled in 48 balls for 607 yards and six scores.
