Gov. Pat Quinn has rededicated 1 of the centerpieces of the University of Illinois campus after a 3-year renovation project.
Quinn was on campus Tuesday to rededicate century-old Lincoln Hall.
The building reopened for classes last fall after the 3-year, $64 million project. The state paid about $58 million of the cost.
Lincoln Hall is 1 of the most noted buildings on campus, but was considered in urgent need of repairs and modernization. No major work had been done on the building since 1930.
The renovation work included adding office and class space and improving the building's energy efficiency.
