A medical emergency can strike anytime and it's vitally important for individuals to know life saving skills.
Carl Baker, Executive Director of the Mid-Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross, says that he wonders about the number of people trained to save lives when he is in a public place. Sometimes, an amubluance can't get to a specific location right away. That means that it's important for as many people as possible to know life saving techniques.

February is Heart month. Heart Disease is the largest killer of women and Baker says being trained in CPR can be one of the best ways to combat those statistics.
