Clinton City Council Monday Meeting Recap

 width=The Clinton City Council had a very short order of business Monday night.

The Council voted to extend an agreement with the Human Resource Center. HRC has provided the city with maintenance services in areas of the city and Clinton Mayor Carolyn Peters says the agreement will continue the current areas in place, but also expand to the revamped Peace Park on Main Street, and also Downey Park's Walk of Honor.

Recently, Monical's has announced they will be relocating to the Douglass Subdivision. Mayor Peters explains they need to approve a redevelopment agreement for that to take place. She adds the city is excited to have another developer set up shop at the location just off Highway 51.

The City has also purchased property at 310 North Madison Street. Mayor Peters explains this removes property from a negligent owner in hopes of something being done with the property. She says the contract does include opt-outs in case the City feels they need to void the contract.

The city has contracted with the Farnsworth Group to do an environmental and structural assessment of the property.

Other items on the City's agenda Monday evening included:

>>The approval of repairs to two fire engines for the Fire Department at a total cost of just over $6700.
