A fake police officer is on the loose. Sangamon County Undersheriff Jack Campbell says a man in an unmarked car has tried to stop several women.

Undersheriff Campbell says it's very troublesome that someone's preying on the faith of the general public.

Undersheriff Campbell has a few tips for anyone who's suspicious about the vehicle following them.

Campbell says they're hoping people come forward with tips, whether they think it's a neighbor or if they see anything suspicious in their neighborhoods. So far three cases have been reported in Sangamon County and two in Morgan County.
