Bradley Falls; SLU Wins Again; Penn State Stuns Michigan

Doug McDermott had another big game at Carver Arena, scoring 32 points, and Creighton moved into a first-place tie in the Missouri Valley Conference with an 80-62 victory over Bradley on Wednesday night.

The win, coupled with a Wichita State loss to Evansville, leaves the Bluejays (23-7, 12-5 Missouri Valley) and Shockers (24-6, 12-5) tied atop the conference standings. The two teams meet Saturday at Creighton in the regular-season finale.

McDermott, who also had 11 rebounds Wednesday, has made himself at home on Bradley's home court. As a freshman, he had a career-best 17 rebounds here, and last season he set a Carver Arena opponent record with 44 points in a 92-83 Creighton win.

Walt Lemon Jr. led Bradley (16-14, 7-10) with 17 points and Will Egolf had 11.

Creighton used a 31-6 run over a span of 8:52 to turn a 42-40 lead into a 73-46 advantage with 6:13 left.

(St. Louis, MO) -- Leading by two points at halftime, the Billikens surged past Saint Joe's to a 70-53 win. Saint Louis put away 41 points in the second half, racking up their 11th conference win of the season. Billikens forward Dwayne Evans ended the night with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Rob Loe finished with 11 points for St. Louis while Mike McCall, Jr. had 10 for the Billikens.

(University Park, PA) -- Jermaine Marshall scored a game-high 25 points as Penn State stunned fourth-ranked Michigan 84-78, snapping a 14-game losing streak in the process. Ross Travis posted 15 points and 12 rebounds, while D.J. Newbill added 17 points for the Nittany Lions, who earned their first Big Ten win of the season and put an end to their 18-game conference skid dating back to last season. Penn State, which improved to just 9-and-18 on the season and 1-and-14 in conference play, hadn't won since December 29th. Tim Hardaway Jr. recorded 19 points and seven boards for the Wolverines, who fell to 23-and-5 and 10-and-5. Trey Burke chipped in with 18 points and six assists in the setback.
