The Clinton Athletic Boosters are hosting their largest fundraiser of the year this weekend.

Saturday night the Athletic Boosters will hold their 3rd annual Maroon Madness event at the Clinton Elks. Vice-President of the Athletic Boosters, Mike Walker explains the evening features a meal, some light snacks, a silent auction and money being given away throughout the night.

Each year the event has grown in popularity and size. Walker explains it has become so popular they are nearly outgrowing their venue at the Clinton Elks. He says the first year they raised almost $10-thousand and doubled the amount last year, and Walker hopes for another solid showing again this year.

Walker says of the money they raise each year, it all goes back into the school districts sports programs. He explains funds they are supporting coming up include a new scoreboard to the high school gym and potentially providing some financial assistance for the wrestling program to buy new wrestling mats.

The event is sold out for this year. Walker thanks all those who have shown support and continue to support the booster club.
