>>Two Giants Pull Out Of WBC

(Scottsdale, AZ) -- The San Francisco Giants' list of participants in the World Baseball Classic continues to shrink. CSN-Bay Area says outfielder Andres Torres and relief pitcher Jose Mijares have both pulled out of the tournament with injuries. Torres has a strained oblique while Mijares is complaining of elbow tenderness. Torres was scheduled to join Team Puerto Rico this weekend. Mijares was slotted on Venezuela's roster. The Giants will still have eight participants in the WBC.

>>Twins' Mauer And Wife Expecting Twins

(Fort Myers, FL) -- The next generation of Minnesota baseball players could be on the way. Minnesota Twins star Joe Mauer [[ MOW-er ]] and his wife, Maddie, are expecting twins. The 29-year-old catcher tells the "Pioneer Press" that they're obviously really excited and happy and that everything so far is good. Mauer says it's too early to tell whether the twins will be boys or girls. The 2009 AL MVP is a three-time batting champion. He's spent his entire nine-year career with Minnesota.
