(Detroit, MI) -- Patrick Kane scored the tying goal with 2:02 to go and then netted the lone goal in the shootout, as the Blackhawks edged the Red Wings 2-1 at Joe Louis Arena to keep their record point streak intact. The 'Hawks extended their NHL-record season-opening point streak to 22 games. They also matched the 1977-78 Montreal Canadiens for the second-longest regular season point streak in league history at 28 straight, dating back to last season. Corey Crawford made 32 saves plus stopped all three shootout attempts for Chicago, which has won nine straight for the first time since December 2008. Tomas Tatar scored the lone goal for the Wings, who have lost five in-a-row to the 'Hawks all by one goal. Jimmy Howard denied 32 shots but couldn't hold off Kane in the shootout.

(Dallas, TX) -- Derek Roy tallied a goal and two assists as the Stars skated past the Blues 4-1 at American Airlines Center. Loui Eriksson had a goal and a helper, while Jaromir Jagr [[ YAR-oh-meer YAH-ger ]] and Erik Cole also lit the lamp for the Stars, who had dropped four-of-six coming in.
