More details have been released on a house fire in Clinton Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:20 pm, Clinton Fire Fighters were called to a house fire at 205 South Elm Street in Clinton. Clinton Fire Chief Shawn Milton says the cause of the fire is still undetermined, as the State Fire Marshall's Office will be investigating.

Along with three rigs from the Clinton Fire Department, fire fighters were called in from Kenny, Maroa, and Wapella. Crews were on the scene over five hours. Chief Milton says the snow fall from Tuesday did not hinder their efforts, but the windy conditions did.

Crews left the scene around midnight but were called back again this morning for a smoldering mattress.

Chief Milton says the second floor of the home was a complete loss.

Less than two weeks ago, crews were called in to battle a home blaze that left a Clinton home in a total loss. Chief Milton says he is not seeing any trends in the cause of the fires.
