DeWitt County HRC Up For Technology Upgrades Through Contest

If you're interested in helping the community but don't know where to start, a local organization has an easy way to do so that requires no monetary donations nor an abundance of time.

The DeWitt County Human Resource Center has been nominated for a monetary giveaway towards electronic upgrades to nonprofit groups across the midwest. According to HRC Executive Director, Lynn Scoville the "Make My Nonprofit Run Better" sweepstakes, sponsored by RK Dixon would allow HRC to improve an area of their organization that is severely behind.

According to Scoville, the application process asked for what each organization's goals would be should they receive funding as a part of the sweepstakes. She explains they have goals of having mobile devices for their workers to use along with basic upgrades for computers.

As it relates to technology, HRC faces many current challenges and a major roadblock in the future. Scoville explains because of a harsh winter, they have had to redirect funds that were initially intended for technology. They also face having to go to the electronic medical records like all healthcare providers.
