The PGA Tour travels north of the border this week for the 105th edition of the Canadian Open at Royal Montreal Golf Club. The Canadian charge will be led by Graham DeLaet, David Hearn, Mike Weir, Stephen Ames and Adam Hadwin. Weir finished second at this event in 2004 and tied for fifth in 2008. Ames tied for eighth in 2009 and seventh in 2005. Hadwin finished tied for fourth in 2011. The purse increased $100,000 from last year to $5.7 million, with the winner receiving $1,026,000.
World No. 7 Matt Kuchar headlines the field. Kuchar won the RBC Heritage in April and is currently sixth on the PGA Tour money list. Also in the field is 2-time champion Jim Furyk, who is ranked 10th in the world. Furyk finished fourth last week at the British Open following a final-round 65. He is still looking for his first win since 2010. Furyk finished second at the Wells Fargo Championship and The Players Championship in May.
