Cubs Win; Sox, Cards Return To Action Tonight

(Chicago, IL) -- Tsuyoshi Wada [[ soo-YO-shee WAH-duh ]] tossed seven innings of one-run ball to lead the Cubs in a 4-1 victory over the Rockies at Wrigley Field. Wada picked up his first career victory while Hector Rondon [[ ron-DOAN ]] notched his 13th save and Anthony Rizzo drove in two. Emilio Bonifacio was 2-for-4 and scored twice as Chicago won for just the second time in six games. Yohan Flande [[ flawn-DAY ]] struck out eight while allowing two runs in six-and-two-thirds innings as he fell to 0-and-3. Brandon Barnes doubled for one of Colorado's six hits while Nolan Arenado drove in a run. The Rox have lost two straight since a three-game win streak.

Cishek was 5-for-5 in save opportunities, fanning eight in five innings. deGrom went 2-and-0 with a 0.68 ERA in wins over Seattle and Milwaukee.

(New York, NY) -- Cleveland Indians infielder and designated hitter Carlos Santana is the American League Player of the Week. He went 15-for-27 for a .556 average with six homers and 10 RBI to give the Tribe their second straight weekly winner. Second baseman Jason Kipnis won the award last week.
